On 9th February, the Embassy of Japan and the Japan Council of Local Authorities for International Relations (CLAIR) in Singapore hosted a reception for new returnees of the JET Programme at Japan Creative Centre. Members of JET Alumni Association (JETAA), Japanese Association, Japanese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (JCCI) and Japanese Cultural Society (JCS) in Singapore attended the reception as well.
His Excellency Ambassador Haruhisa Takeuchi mentioned in his speech that he appreciated the JET participants’ contributions to Japan and would like to liven up the upcoming 50th Anniversary of Japan-Singapore Diplomatic Relations together with them next year. Director of CLAIR Singapore Mr. Masahide Adachi and President of JETAA Singapore Mr. Wong Hung Shane also made a speech to welcome the returnees back.
At the reception, the returnees shared their valuable experiences in Japan and had an interesting discussion with the attendees. The reception ended with dinner and refreshments where the returnees and the attendees continued their conversations. It was a great opportunity to deepen friendship with the new returnees and strengthen ties amongst Japanese-related organisations in Singapore.
